ECM-113 (March 2-4, 2012)

The 113th Executive Council Meeting (ECM-113) of the IUVSTA will be hosted by the Florida Chapter of the AVS Science and Technology Society (FLAVS), and will be held in Orlando, Florida, USA from March 2nd to 4th, 2012.  The venue of ECM-113 will be Holiday Inn Orlando UCF, which is located on the edge of the University of Central Florida (UCF) campus.

FLAVS-FSM 2012 (March 5-6, 2012)

This ECM will be immediately followed by the Annual Joint Symposium of FLAVS and the Florida Society for Microscopy (FLAVS-FSM 2012) on March 5-6.  The ECM meeting attendees are strongly encouraged to participate in the Symposium.  Information about the Symposium can be found at the FLAVS website: http://www.flavs.org/.  Registration is free, although online registration before March 1 is strongly recommended for symposium organization. 

Technical sessions at FLAVS-FSM 2012 includes:

• Surface science,
• Nanoelectronics
• Microscopy/focused ion beams
• Renewable energy
• Thin films
• Characterization of nano-biomaterials
• Advances in instrumentation

The symposium will also include a vendor exhibit and poster competitions in several graduate and undergraduate student categories. 

The venue for FLAVS-FSM 2012 is the Student Union Building on the UCF campus, which is within walking distance of the Holiday Inn.
